Timka has deep experience in making courageous career shifts that have paid off. She left Huntsville, Alabama to move to New York City (where she knew no one) for a career in investment banking. She was the only black woman in her investment banking analyst cohort. She left her banking career and took on a new role in a new industry - crisis management consulting, helping address complex problems with over 20 companies in 2.5 years. Finally, she left her job after her promotion to take the leap again...this time to business school. She thrived during her time at Wharton and was named as a recipient of the 2019 Behrman Award for Leadership Fellow. Full-time, she'll be joining American Express working on strategic, people-focused initiatives, while part-time working with individuals who are 2-3 years out of their career to help to achieve their next steps. Timka is well versed in these leaps and wants to help others explore their path to greatness.
